I don't know abuot you, but I am so damn sick of hearing about all the stuff that Brett Favre (or is that Brent Farve?) and Aaron Rodgers (the State Farm actor) have done for the Packers in the past 20 or so years. I mean, yeah, they both won a Super Bowl. And yes, they've both been the NFL MVP--a combined 4 times no less. But for the love of God, don't you think it's about time someone wrote about the Seneca Wallace era? Yes? I couldn't agree more.
Seneca Wallace was born in Sacramento, CA. in 1980.
He then played about 3 quarters against the Chicago Bears on November 4th, 2013. He handed off a few times, which was pretty cool. He then threw a 5-yard slant pass to Jordy Nelson, although it was quite a bit behind him. At one point, he escaped the pocket and successfully threw the ball out of bounds on a 3rd & 6, safely securing the punt. Despite the loss, to to the double-digit underdog Bears, at Lambeau none-the-less, Wallace was really something. His QB rating of 43.2 really doesn't tell the whole story.
Which is why it needs to be written here, so it's documented for future generations.
Then, in Seneca Wallaces' first historic start as a Packer (November 10th, 2013, a day none of us will ever forget)--historic not because he became the first African-American to start for the Packers, but because he's so God awful--he played a handful of plays before injuring his groin while throwing another ball out of bounds to lead to another successfully executed punt. My guess is his groin is a powerful unit, easily pulled. So cut the guy some slack, will ya?
So there you have it. A tale so powerful, I can't believe it hasn't been written before. I hope you will share it with your children, and if so fortunate, grand-children. Let's not let the future fans forget there was another starter in the Farve-Rodgers era, nor his accomplishments.
Just because Farve threw 420 TD passes and never missed a game in 16 years, and Rodgers is the NFL's all time top-rate passer, please don't forgot about all that Seneca Wallace has accomplished.
With sincere thanks, gratitude, and appreciation.
Humbly yours,
